The system aggregates forward, reverse, and dual-side camera feeds into a single composite view, delivered to an in-cab display with no perceptible latency. Coverage is continuous across all mounted cameras, and the primary display view can also switch automatically based on digital inputs — selecting reverser, for example, can automatically bring the rear camera up as the primary monitor view, without operator action.
The same hardware extends beyond yard movements: forward- or rear-facing cameras provide drivers with additional visibility during mainline running, with activation speed-gated to disable automatically above pre-programmed thresholds where it isn't required. Deployments scale to the site — from a single reverse-camera replacement through to full 360° coverage — on hardware rated for continuous-duty operation in rail-yard and mainline conditions: sustained vibration, thermal cycling, and IP-rated weather exposure.
Onboard storage retains recent footage for post-movement review or post-incident investigation support. This is a vision-system storage buffer, not a crash-hardened event recorder, and is not a substitute for a certified locomotive event recorder.

Sentinel doesn't retrofit general industrial-safety hardware for rail. Every system is specified against rolling-stock duty cycles from the start — vibration profiles, thermal range, and both yard (shunting/coupling) and mainline running conditions — so procurement isn't paying for a compromise between two markets.
